Koiguchi is to be made of horn and the habaki acts as a template for
the initial stock removal
Stock is removed around the koiguchi for fitting of the horn
The horn is fitted
Horn fabrication continues with horn fitted to the tsuka as
fuchi. Additional horn is fitted at the mouth of the kozuka and provides
strength to this stress point.
Ideally the tsuka would be cut after the penciled mark but again, all parameters of the blade and koshirae must be taken in to account with compromises made to best suit the project at hand
Kozuka and proposed menuki are placed for preliminary display.
